~NIN's Hurt...Life Soundtrack of the Abused, Abandoned, Forgotten Child~

~Trent Reznor's Hurt is brilliant, beautiful, and most importantly real~
I had listened to this song many times in the past, but it wasn't until I had worked in child protection for awhile that I truly "heard" this song in my heart, soul, and core existence~

~To me, this song represents the feelings, beliefs, struggles, and identity of the abused, abandoned, and forgotten child~

~I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything
What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
goes away
In the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappears
You are someone else
I am still right here
What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
goes away
In the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way~

~A Broken Soul.....from a Broken Life~

The blackbird symbolizes the broken soul from a broken life.....Broken Souls don't have to start over from the beginning of life....simply take what you have and learn to deal with it and make the best of what you already have, no matter what the situation.

"Take these broken wings and learn to fly."
This goes with the saying "Even the most beautiful rainbows can be colored with broken crayons."

~6 Things I Truly Understand at 30 that I didn't in my 20's~

~On November 1st, 2013 I turned 30! Yes, 30.  Believe it or not, I actually had a slight melt-down (crying, sobbing, shortness of breath).  Thankfully, within a couple of days and much needed time with my Mommy, I came to my senses.  I wanted to share with you 6 things that I feel I truly understand now that I am 30 that I couldn't completely wrap my head around in my twenties~

In no such order......

1.  If you continue to try to measure up to everyone else's standards of what success is, you will continually meet a wall of defeat.

2.  Success, 'perfect life', 'perfect career', and 'perfect mate' NEED to be defined by YOU and only YOU!!!

3.  Now that my son is 2 going on 3....the saying that "embrace every moment, because it goes by so fast" is actually 100% true!

4.  F#ck any negativity that comes your way.....people, hype, conversation, news, drama, etc....YOU DON"T NEED IT....and if you find yourself thriving off it...YOU are the one that needs to CHECK YOURSELF!!!

5.  Marriage is work....Marriage is hard-work...and for anyone that says it isn't....they are seriously living a lie.....

6.  Tell your loved ones EVERYDAY how special, awesome, great, kind, and amazing they are because you never know when time is up :)

Thank you!!!

4 Social Workers Fired...What now?

I would like to first start out by thanking Gabriel's Fight and Gabriel's Justice Facebook Page Administrators and everyone involved for their dedication, passion and unstoppable drive towards making REAL change in the DCFS.

EGP News reported that a DCFS spokeswoman said four social workers involved with the case have been issued “letters of intent to discharge.” Now what?  According to a statement by Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky: “The department leadership has sent a strong and unmistakable message that the lives of children for whom the county has responsibility are paramount".

Really?  The horrific fact that this "message" had to be stated is absolutely ridiculous and frankly disgusting.  A beautiful, 8-year-old boy suffers horrific abuse resulting in his death and NOW is the time that you want to get across to your workers that "the lives of children for whom the county has responsibility are paramount?"

We Will Not Be Silenced: America's Child Welfare System

In recent years, a number of high profile child abuse cases illustrate the weakness in the child protection system.  The latest case that has sparked intense outrage is the horrific story of Gabriel Fernandez, who tragically lost his life at the hands of the individuals that were supposed to love and protect him from all things evil.  Thankfully, groups such as Gabriel's Fight are working to spread awareness on child abuse in general and to promote protest and court dates so everyone can attend to show the power of the public.

In an investigation by the Denver Post, more than 40 percent of the children that died of neglect and abuse in Colorado over the last six years were known to child protection services, with many not receiving the minimum necessary visits required by law from a case worker. Major cases in New York, Arizona and throughout the nation illustrate the fine line that lies within the field of child protection.

Social workers are told that their first priority is to find a way to keep the family together.  Due to a lack of resources and program funding, many child protection agencies have taken a “make it work at home” attitude.

The call to action is NOW...

In Honor of Father's Day

Father's Day is the perfect day to celebrate and reminisce on what you have learned from your father and to look back on all the moments and memories that you shared growing up.  While growing up, and still to this day, my father has three sayings that he swears by.  I thought I would share these with you and feel free to share with me about sayings or quotes from your fathers.

"If you are happy here on earth, it is heaven.  If you are miserable, then it is hell"

"There is a place for everything, and everything in its place"

"If my grandma would have been born with wheels, then she would have been a streetcar"

Shaken Baby Syndrome

According to the Las Vegas Sun a Las Vegas man was arrested on counts of murder and child abuse after a 16-month-old child he was watching died Thursday at University Medical Center.  The man shook the child back and forth asking, “Why’s you crying like that?” and “What’s wrong with you?” according to the police report.

Parents or caregivers are most often the perpetrators in these cases and the common triggers are frustration, stress, and anger because of the babies crying. Between seventy to seventy-nine percent of people convicted of killing or severely hurting babies are males. The average age of perpetrators is twenty-four and sixty-two percent are the parent of the victim.

R.I.P Gabriel Fernandez, 8

Gabriel Fernandez, 8 was tortured and abused horrifically and he died on May 24th.  The Facebook page Gabriel's Justice was created in support of Gabriel.  My article "Unfounded child abuse allegations" reports that newly revealed Department of Children and Family Services documents show a broad pattern of horrifying child abuse missed by the system.

For horrific, unimaginable, and clear 'red flags' of abuse to go 'unfounded' and for child protection workers to 'fail' to intervene is unexusable.

When child abuse cases such as Gabriel's hit the news everyone wants to play the blame game and point out the million of failures in the child welfare system, but it doesn't seem to make any difference in the actual policies and legislation that are put into place to protect and ensure our community's children.

Enough is enough.  My heart hurts and the time for action is NOW.  Real action, measurable-action must be taken.  No one will agrue the fact that the child welfare system is flawed.

R.I.P Gabriel, may you now have the peace, safety, love, and security that you should have had while here for your much to short of time here on Earth.

Father's Day

~As Father's Day quickly approaches,I wanted to take a few moments and celebrate my amazing father...This year seems different...with his recent diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease I find myself anxious, scared, and worrisome that his disease will progress rapidly and next year will be different.

My dad is absolutely awesome and even though he is in his mid-eighties, he will still drop anything that he is doing and help me out of any situation.  Of course, I must always listen to one of his famous 'talks' first, but I don't even mind anymore.

I know that as my dad's illness progresses things will be very different, and sometimes scary, weird, and even depressing, but just like he has been there for me...I will do exactly the same for him.

Love ya Dad....

~My Journey begins today: How to Write a Nonfiction book~

~I have been granted an amazing opportunity to take the amazing course "How to write a nonfiction book" as a pilot program and I just began the first module and quiz today.  Bobbi Linkemer is an absolutely phenomenal individual and  has guided many authors through the writing-publishing-promotion process.~

As I finished the first module and took the first quiz, I was feeling very anxious, excited, nervous, and slightly nauseous.  I KNOW that I need to write this book, and I have spoke before about the soul contract that I have with a little angel who left the earth much to soon at the hands of her mother, who murdered her.

~Well here goes nothing.....~I feel sick :(

~This I Promise You, to my little boy who will soon be turning two~

Trent Robert Roemer
~This I promise you, to my little boy who will soon be turning two~

I promise to hug and kiss you every day and night,
one million gazillion times is not too much
For you are my little angel who was sent to be my guiding light

I promise to support you, and share an interest in your likes
Even if that means I might have to ride a big wheel and one of your awesome trikes

I promise to laugh, giggle, and snuggle
Because You are mommy's happy little monkey and the world is your jungle

I promise not to hold on for too long,
But it will be quite hard because our bond is so strong

I promise to go to every activity and sport that you do
And I will be your biggest fan, Mommy and her crew

I promise to be the best mommy I can be
Because you deserve the world and all there is to see

~Poem "Mom, Why Does your Love Hurt"~Abused Child to mom

~Why Does your Love Hurt~

Mom, you love with your fists

When you hit me, I feel surprisingly close to you

Mom, you love with your words

When you call me stupid, I embody that trait

Mom, you love with your hands,

When you slap me, I feel the warmth of your touch

Mom, you love with your silence

When you ignore me, I make believe that you have no words to describe how important I am

Mom, I wish you could love with your heart

Mom, I wish you could love with your soul

Mom, oh mom, I just wish your love didn’t hurt

Love Me,

~My Life Purpose/Aura Color Violet~Top Reasons why being a Violet empowers change....

1. Like other Violets, I KNOW that I am here on this earth do something significant.  And, with that said....I am still working on trying to make sure what that something is or how to accomplish it.

2.  I have been told that I am a very old souls.  My visions and ideas sometimes seem unrealistic and impractical to some.

3.  I felt very isolated and misunderstood as a child, and often felt that I didn't fit.  I still feel this way sometimes today.

4.  My life is very intense and has been challenging, but these challenges have been of my own doing.  I am my OWN worst enemy.  Because of this I am very, very empathic and can easily feel others pain and emotions.

5.  I love music, and am very passionate about it.  Violets are the communicators on the plane, and for them music is the universal language.

6.  My goals and accomplishments in regards to saving and protecting abused children may seem too big for some, too grandiose, too unrealistic.  But, if I can stay focused, I will hopefully inspire and earn the respect of those around them me when they begin to manifest.

7. Violets love children and will bond with them emotionally.  I also, see the potential in children and believe that every child, if given a chance can succeed.

8.  Violets are natural mediators.

~How to Save a Life~

~Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life~

~Child abuse and neglect affects more than half a million American children each year, according to the release. About 680,000 children in the United States were abused or neglected in 2011 and more than 1,500 of these children died. Children aged 5 and under are at the most risk for abuse and death from abuse.~

~My heart hurts, and I don't know what to do?  Each day children are being horribly abused, neglected, tortured, and killed.  What is the answer?~ Please help me in creating a discussion around creating ACTION~

Thank you for viewing~

I have a soul contract with a little angel in heaven, and that contract states that I will do everything and anything in my God given power to save a child's life in the way that this little girl's should have been.....

~You May say I'm a dreamer...but I'm not the only one

~Imagine a world in which children laughed, smiled, played, and lived as children should.  Imagine a world in which children didn't flinch when there parents were near, didn't hide because they were afraid of getting hit, didn't hurt because they got hit, didn't cry because they were called stupid, lazy, and dumb.....~Beautiful isn't it?

Life Colors: I am a violet

~Recently picked up the book "Life Colors" and I learned that I am a violet.  Violets are inspirational visionaries, leaders, and teachers who are here to help save the planet.  Violets have an inner sense that they are here to do something important.  Violets can literally see the future in their mind's eye. ~

Soul Contract and Awakening

~My mind is constantly busy, not the everyday busy that most people experience, but busy with emotions, creativity, ideas, wishes, hopes, dreams, inspiration.  For as far back as I can remember, I have always been extremely imaginative, creative and incredibly empathic.  I truly believe it is these abilities that drive me to write. ~

My Purpose Driven Life

Today I begin my path of purpose driven writing

I have recently embarked on a spiritual journal and after doing much research I have discovered that my aura color is violet.  Meaning:

Inspirational, visionary, charismatic, powerful, magnetic, dynamic, leaders and teachers

They know they are here to do something important to help uplift humanity and the planet

They are here as teachers/leaders to educate the masses and to inspire/create positive change

They have a message to share with the world and feel a strong inner push to express it

These are older souls who have an innate wisdom and intelligence not of formal education

As visionaries, they see the future results they’re trying to create even if not knowing how to yet

They’re natural performers who love being the center of attention; can channel inspired info.

If uncentered, they can get scattered and overwhelmed taking on too many projects at once OR

Can become stalemated, not knowing what to do next to accomplish their goals

Meditation is very important for them so that they can learn to trust their visions

To many colors, their visions and ideals can seem unrealistic and impractical

Freedom and independence are necessities so that they can accomplish their life purpose

They often felt isolated and misunderstood in childhood and still can as adults

They love to travel to broaden their horizons

They have incredible emotional depth and compassion; can bond with a partner deeply

They need an equal partner who shares in their visions and won’t hold them back

They have a strong sex drive and are sexually attractive to other people

They like being self-employed giving them the freedom to do their life’s work

They feel fulfilled when they’ve effectively reached the world and inspired positive change
The Life Purpose of someone with the core color of Violet is to be the inspirational, humanitarian dreamer who is capable of envisioning and manifesting that which others say cannot be done.
The Basic Fear of someone with the core color of Violet is the fear of not doing something meaningful in their lifetime.
